The urban space concept for the Zentrum Zürich university area defines the open space concept in the long term in coordination with the arrangement of uses that have an impact on the public. Slope-parallel connections are called rungs, slope-transverse ones are called spars, and each is treated specifically. In the centre lies the Gloriapark, which is interwoven with the street space via the park shell. The most important connection to the valley level is provided by the new lift from Central, which leads via Tannenstrasse to the new Forum in the building of the current ETH Institute of Agriculture and Forestry: Here a common place of exchange and representation of ETH, university and university hospital is created.
