The project at the Rüschlikon railway station uses the guiding principle of metamorphosis. Through a successive transformation of the design elements, a gentle transition is created between the urban centre in the north and the village-like residential area in the south. The design theme consists in the plasticity of the building structures with their projections and recesses. Depending on the orientation towards the lake, the position on the road and the specific location on the slope, different shapes result. In this way, not only should each specific location be taken into account, but also the lighting of the apartments and the relationship to the lake should be optimally exploited. Six buildings are being created that respond to their respective micro-contexts without losing the larger context and potential of a new appearance on Bahnhofsstrasse.
