Following the abandonment of industrial use, Neu-Oerlikon has rapidly changed into a new residential and working quarter on the basis of the special building regulations of 1993. The project proposes to develop the site in two areas: adjacent to the station, a dense center area with work and living with a creative and event cluster, which preserves and reuses the existing Hall 622 of ABB; at the MFO Park, a residential cluster with Hall 550 as a semi-public access space. The industrial heritage is reflected in the compositional principle of seriality borrowed from minimal art.
