Expanding a piece of the city together: In a broad-based participation process, a development concept was developed with the interested citizens: The area radiates into District 5, links up with the neighbourhood and forms a new hinge between Viadukt and Röntgenplatz and between Hardbrücke and Langstrasse. Urban squares such as Viaduktplatz and Platz an der Neugasse are being created, an open space sequence along the track field, diverse living and working spaces and the innovative ensemble around Depot G, which combines school use with public, social and commercial use and makes the railway history tangible through its hall atmosphere.
