The left bank of the lake has emerged from the unnoticed use of neighbourhood residents and businesses. Because there is no street line, the lakeshore extends far into the neighbourhood. This makes it fundamentally different from the right bank of the lake. This independence must be secured with the increasing interest in the lakeshore: Diversity and spontaneity of use, permeable development, intertwining of nature and the city, and the coexistence of different development paces.
A great quality lies in the very good networking along the shore and into the hinterland as well as in the unagitatedly programmed shore zone with different intensities of use. The dominance of the streets as traffic areas is to be reduced in favour of a greater quality of stay.
The development of the left bank of the lake gains robustness through the careful completion and design of the open space network, which allows a great deal of freedom in the development of individual elements.
