2015 Urbanity of Things
Simon Kretz and Christian Salewski: Urbanity of things. Relationship richness and relationship potential as a resource. Resources enable action. Resources arise when people attribute a potential to existing goods and activate it. In an urban context, many new possibilities for action arise when people and artifacts enter into productive relationships. Clever urban design can create the strategic and spatial basis for this. Through the design of the material space of the city, an urbanity of things can be created: It is characterized by the presence of relational richness and relational potential, creating possibilities for action. – In: Professorship of Architecture and Urbanism Kees Christiaanse, Tim Rieniets, Nicolas Kretschmann, Myriam Perret (eds.): Die Stadt als Ressource, Berlin: Jovis 2014.
